Had the first couples counseling the other day. It was interesting. Forced to be diplomatic for lack of a better word we were articulating points that sort of surprised each other I think. The therapist also had me figured out in no time at all “Shit childhood, yeah?” “yep” “Parents didnt love each other?” “Nup”. Guess I’m not the first she’s seen.

Yours truly got two dates (one maybe Saturday and the other Sunday) this weekend. Super excited for Sunday one as I like her but not too sure on Saturday 😊

We’re planning a garden visit followed by drinks at a board games cafe on Sunday!! Should I get flowers? What do I wear?!! I’m nervous now 😪

I’ve decided to turn off the alarm for tomorrow morning. Still going to bed shortly, but after this morning’s migraine, I’m going to sleep in a little.

    Goodnight guys ❤️

Got up at 6 am fully refreshed. Logged into work stupid early and finished all my stuff by about 9 am.

Still logged in but playing video games on my PC.

I think this is a good Friday

      What are you playing?

I’ve been playing the demo on steam of Tactical Breach Wizards. A turn based strategy game from the guy who did Heat Signature, where you play a few magical wizards uncovering a conspiracy, with assault wands. It’s to be released in August. I am actually a little hyped lol

Right! The demo is free and I defo recommend it! The art style is so cool, and blasting people out of windows is so dang addictive (the dev has a thing for defenestration, I think it’s in all his games lol). It’s funny, and fun.

Fuck I love that game. Played DA: Origins on the 360, and while 2 is meh, Inquisition is my favourite.

Shouldn’t have romanced Solas. The Bull is where it’s at tbh. He’s got the horns to grab onto haha.

The world building is sick, characters are well written, and gameplay is impactful. Love it, glad you’re enjoying it! It gets hate online, but I think it’s great haha

I tried Elden Ring when it came out and could not get into it at all. Gameplay was fine, but the lack of a story (a cohesive one that was explicit) ruined it for me.

I’m playing Dragon Age Inquisition. It was free on Epic games a while back and it’s pretty fun.

Have just heaved a packet of sausages, some curry paste, a shittonne of vegetables and the last leftover can of the cider into the slow cooker. Dinner will be ready at 8 ish. Dunno what you’d call it - bangers & hash stew maybe? Melbourne coddle? Kept back some parsley & lemon zest & garlic for stirring through at the last minute.

The crisper drawer is now empty. Note to self - buy more grog.

Saving your post incase I ever dare to try the tiny slow cooker that was given to me but haven’t had the courage to use yet due to lack of experience.

Oh Duenan, the slow cooker is the best gadget ever in the kitchen. Whatever you cook on the stove, you can do in the slow cooker. Hmu when I’m sober. The slow cooker is my forte and I’m sure a lot of people here are the same.

Mine is only 5 litres. Two quarts in old money. It’s a very old (but still functional) original crockpot. I think I got in back in 1982 … has seen a lot of use since. My only complaint is that the crock part is not removable, so I have to be vigilant about washing it up so the electrics don’t get compromised. Modern ones are much easier to deal with - just put the insert in the dishwasher.

I inherited one from my dad. It looks pretty small and is heavy as well but it does come in two parts.

I’m not sure how many litres mine might be. Could be 5 as well?

Measure with the next empty milk carton generated in your household. 5 litres is pretty small - only just holds a smallish chicken. Does chicken pieces pretty good though. Living alone, I don’t need anything much bigger than that. When the boyos and my late partner were in the house, I used it for like the meat part of the meal only, and did the rest on the stovetop or in the oven. The beautiful thing about a slow cooker is that it’s almost impossible to burn anything in it.

Bringing up half memories of a pressure cooker. Small heavy bell thing on the top vent. And bloody Keens curry powder.

Also lemon tree just refuses to settle down, picked so many a few weeks ago and it’s still going like mad poor thing is tilting:

I was able to get a better sleep last night, but this bed situation is annoying me. I have a “double” bed, but it’s one of those fake double beds where it’s just 2 singles pushed together. Both bases are on wheels as well, and the wheels don’t have locks on them, so I have to keep pushing them back together as they get separated

can you pin them together? Put one up against a wall and use a desk/bed side table to ensure they dont roll apart?

Unfortunately there’s about a 1-1.5m gap between the bed and the wall, and the bedside tables are too flimsy and light to hold the bed in place if I move or roll in bed (tried that last night, it fell over)

Probably my only option, but I’m only here for 4 or 4 more nights, so I don’t really want to spend money on making the beds less uncomfortable

        The bed is a lie!!!

I don’t hate them as much when they’re sturdy bases put on the floor without wheels, but this wheely system is hell. The beds are literally only held together by a sheet

Could double bed sheets keep them together, or those coaster things for furniture you can get from bunnings?

The double sheets are what they’ve used to hold them together. It worked for the first night when the housekeepers did it, but I don’t think I’m physically capable of making the sheets as tight as they did)
