    It’s kind of the opposite of socialized healthcare, because it’s only available to a select few.

      How I meant it:
      Socialized healthcare = publicly funded.
      Universal healthcare = publicly funded and everyone gets it.

        I see where you’re coming from, but if you think of “socialized” as relating to socialism, it doesn’t hold up, because public funding is a feature of all governments, not just socialist ones.
