I know we are still early in the 9th gen console era, but this seems to be the trend.
Take a game that the gamers loved from the 6th and 7th gen console era, and heavily rework the graphics and the games mechanics.
A good deal of time has passed since gamers last played those games. So, they are combining a healthy dose of nostalgia, modern graphics and game mechanics into a potent blend to make the gamers pay up for what is essentially an old IP, just reheated.
From the dev / publishers perspective, is a very low risk and decently high reward undertaking. A no brainer essentially.
I’m okay with it, except the FF7 remake. That’s a trash retelling of the original, and they lied about it being a retelling, instead feeding us all the line that it was a faithful remake when it’s not.

Pissed you have to buy multiple installments to get the full story too… really just milking it. Idk if I’ll bother finishing it tbh.
