Yeah, most articles you read were just written to get more click and making it sound apocalyptic/disastrous drives clicks. They are focusing more on the worst possible outcome and less on previous instances.

You omitted the key point here, the poem advocates for all of Korea to be united under the North Korean regime.
Dude wrote a poem for the North Korean state media advocating for the unification of Korea under the ‘Pyongyang’s socialist system’. Considering that the reason for the entire Korean war and the ongoing conflict between North Korea and South Korea is that both claim to be the only legitimate government of all Korea, I can see why they would find this seditious.

Many people forgot, many others now think that he is the villain of the story just because he did what he had to do to save his life, a whole lot don’t care because ‘they have nothing to hide’. For what it’s worth, people who actually care about their privacy is a very small minority in pretty much all countries.
