GrapheneOS is mobile private & secure mobile operating system with Android app compatibility. Developed as a non-profit open source project.

I understand it’s ironic de-google phone/tablet with google hardware, but it just works better then anything else. Permission toggles, pin scrambling, auto-reboot, scopes, MAC randomization, isolated user profiles, longer passwords, sandboxed apps, open source firmware, no bloat & more.

It is very easy to install & also works on the pixel tablet. This has made my pixel 7 last days to weeks on a single charge.

GrapheneOS is not a ROM & it is not custom android. Its a open source linux operation system based on the fork of AOSP with major privacy/security impriovments not found elsewhere currently. The OS shipping on Android devices is an AOSP-based OS made by the device vendor. GrapheneOS isn’t a customization of that OS and neither OS is a ROM.

Most clickbait youtubers are spreading misrepresentations/fabrications about the GrapheneOS project and directing harassment towards its project members. Clickbait youtubers like Louis misrepresented certain private conversations he leaked, lied about what was said and the context in order to engage in severe bullying and harassment. He wasn’t spot on about what he said & it wasn’t honest. He had already engaged in cruel behavior in private for a year. Please read what they posted as a project & what Daniel posted. It does not say that he’s leaving the project. It says he’s stepping down from public and leadership roles due to harassment. It has been misinterpreted elsewhere. I don’t generally recommend getting content from these influencers/clickbait on YouTube, podcasts or elsewhere. It’s largely the equivalent of junk food or reality TV. There are a couple people making good videos about GrapheneOS like @sideofburritos . Most good content is written.
