Yes. Everyone should have savings they can live off of for an extended period of time. Not everyone has that luxury between cost of living, low salary, or just emergencies that drain those savings.
So maybe we can avoid the “it is their own fault if they are inconvenienced” stupidity and acknowledge that a government shut down is bad?
Any government employee should know to have a govt shutdown plan in place. It’s becoming common.
