The timing of the proposal is nearly as notable as the substance, coming just weeks after the president unveiled a restrictive new measure to clamp down on asylum at the southern border. That policy drew sharp rebukes from progressive allies, who accused the administration of adopting a wholly conservative framework toward immigration.

Its not just a matter of disagreeing on policy or ethics.

He’s breaking the fucking law and no one is holding him accountable

The filing argues that the new rules violate US immigration law and the Administrative Procedure Act, which lays out the procedural steps agencies must go through in implementing certain policies.

It’s a slap in the face to Dem voters when he won’t do what we want, but doesn’t hesitate to break the law to be more conservative than Dem voters want.

It’s not just here, he went around congress to illegally “sell” weapons to Israel to avoid a few days delay.

trump not giving a fuck about the law doesn’t mean the only other option gets to do it whenever he wants to act more like trump.

If Biden wants to do shit like that, why not at least use it for good instead of fucking evil?

It’s like the moderate wing of the Dem party has just been waiting for an excuse to be as shitty as possible. And trump is that excuse. And voters insisting we can’t ask for more are their enablers.

How exactly? What are his options?

We have large numbers of homeless people in sanctuary cities. He cant provide funding with his power, and Congress won’t pass legislation.

How about a suggestion for improvement rather than your usual perpetual condemnation?

Personally I think prioritising the status of people currently in the US over newcomers is entirely reasonable.

        Or…

We could just tax the fucking wealthy and not commit human rights abuses while not meeting the needs of citizens anyways?

Biden’s tax plan is focused heavily on the wealthy and corporations, giving more breaks to working families.

That still doesn’t change his inability to direct those funds to help immigrants. That requires congressional legislation.

I’ll ask again, since you’re always so vocal about what he shouldn’t be doing, what do you want Biden to do to help immigrants?

          Edit: crickets
