Biden, a supposed foreign policy pragmatist, doesn’t seem bothered that the US is one of the few states that continues to wholeheartedly sustain Israel’s war on Gaza. In fact, Biden has staked his political future on his support for Netanyahu and Israel – and Biden is losing. In this year’s presidential election, where he will most likely face Donald Trump once again, Biden has already lost support among young progressives, Black and Arab American voters, who are all rightfully angry at his refusal to restrain Israel.

Biden allies are raising the alarm that he could lose Michigan, a swing state with substantial Black, Arab and Muslim American voting blocs, because of his Middle East policies. Congressman Ro Khanna, a Biden supporter and progressive Democrat from California who has tried to mediate between Biden’s campaign and Michigan Democrats, warned his team this week: “We cannot win Michigan with status quo policy.”

The Biden administration has consistently underplayed the leverage it has over Israel and Netanyahu. “I think that sometimes people pretend that the United States of America has a magic wand that it can wave to make any situation in the world roll out in exactly the way that we would want it to and that is never the case,” Matthew Miller, the state department spokesperson, said at a press conference on 12 February.

Miller’s flippant comment raises an important question: if Biden can’t use billions of dollars in military aid – and the ability to literally cut off Israel’s supply of bombs – to force Netanyahu to accept a ceasefire, what could Biden do with a magic wand?

It absolutely would not teach them anything because the people who fund both sides don’t care. Republicans will absolutely destroy this country with 4 more years in control. Democrats aren’t perfect, but they’re much better than Republicans.

Democrats aren’t perfect, but they’re much better than Republicans.

Funding, sending weapons to, sending our navy to protect a genocide is a far cry from not being ‘perfect’

Republicans suck, stop using them as an excuse for a literal genocide- or as a threat to get people to support a genocide.

“Suck” is a funny way of spelling “fascist.” Also, you’re arguing that we should punish Democrats by letting Republicans win, who will support both foreign and domestic genocide.

For people who claim to care about genocide, it seems like a really strange hill to die upon.

Do you not understand how being complicit in a genocide is something of a red line for a lot of people? The fact that I have been told to fuck off (in slightly nicer words) by pretty much all of my Democratic reps when I bring up this issue, tells me that they are not people who I trust to not slide into open fascism at home either.

Why would they listen when the next genocide is happening if the only lesson they take from this one is to double down and ignore all criticism?

You will be complicit no matter who you choose. I suggest choosing the one that gets you less genocide.

If you vote third party or stay home you are literally not complicit in Genocide.

This is a trolley problem for which people actively need to pull the Genocide switch. And it doesn’t happen if enough people don’t delude themselves into pulling the switch.

Lefties will not vote for Biden if he keeps committing Genocide. Genocide is the red line.

A vote for third party is no better than abstention. That means Trump wins, which means more Gazan genocide. That’s why you are complicit no matter what you choose.

You can wax philosophical about how you remain morally pure, but the LGBTQ people, the immigrants, the people who are forced to be pregnant won’t find much comfort in how you decided this was the time to take a moral stand. I’m sure future generations will find hollow comfort in how you “maintained your morals” but let theofascism take over.

No you don’t understand. Only voting for Genocide means voting for Genocide. And we will never do that. And we will make sure to obstruct Biden in every possible way until the Genocide stops. Only then will we start turning against Trump. If the Democrats can’t even compromise on not committing Genocide then we will not compromise with them.

Future generations will ask me what I did during the most preventable Genocide in world history I will say I was not being a whiny bitch that tried to ignore it and put so much pressure on the Democrats that they stopped it.

If Trump wins and sets up theofascism, how do you propose to do that? Gonna build a secret resistance? Take down the empire? You sound like every ideologue I’ve ever met.

Yeah, Dems will stop it by virtue of losing, and Republicans will just take up the reigns. And you know who they won’t listen to? A bunch of self-important Leftist ideologues. In fact, they’ll do it harder just because it’s what you want. But you’ll be able to lord it over the rest of us that you’re morally superior!
