Not an expert but as I’ve understood it it’s pretty similar to Fennec, less tracking and more private than your regular Firefox. I don’t know anything about either ones development team size or activity either so I can’t recommend one over the other. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can chime in.
I read a comment here from someone who maintained one of them. I think their update cycles are different and Fennec basically creates a new build whenever Firefox in upstream makes one with the extra stuff that Fennec does. This was a while ago so my info may not be fully factual, but the comment confirmed to me that Fennec was a good choice for me.
