    My head-canon is that John Wilkes Booth didn’t kill Abraham Lincoln (pun fully intended). He was from the future.

    Abe, given a vision of what the Republican party would turn into, since he didn’t execute or deport every last traitorous dog of the Confederacy, promptly shot himself in disgust.
