Jerboa or just in the browser. Honestly though most people’s issues are likely to be because they joined a huge instance which is falling over due to load. Consider making a new account on a smaller instance.
Is this different than firing someone over their social media posts or inappropriate conduct captured on video? To me it does, but I’m not sure I can articulate why. Am I being a hypocrite?
Isn’t there something with disco elysium and whoever is profiting off of it now is not the original creators?
Right, why participate if it’s just going to be buried under the mountain of other content.
I’d imagine you’re rather unique. I have a hard time imagining atheists believing in something as nebulous as a soul.
EDIT: Please don’t downvote OP, if anything this is a more interesting discussion thread than just “No, we’re just meat and electricity”
Incredible destruction 😮
Yep that’s exactly what I was trying to convey. It does feel like the early internet days when everything was just a bit broken and streamlined UX was not at the forefront of tech. The primary users were the geeks that could figure this stuff out.
My understanding is there isn’t one Lemmy. There are lots of instances, but they all talk to each other. I.e. they share the posts and comments their users make. If an instance becomes problematic then other instances will choose to stop receiving updates from them. So users of the bad instance can still see the content and comment on it, but other users won’t see the content from those users.
I kind of like the lower comment count. It sucks when there are literally no comments, but for me, I’m much more inclined to leave a comment when there aren’t too many already. Plus I found most comments were really low effort jokes. For every well thought out comment, there were a million ‘this’ type comments.
Plus everything is just a bit broken and requires some figuring out. I’m definitely pretty tech savvy, but I’m having a hard time imagining non tech savvy people figuring out how to sign up and access these communities, at least not in the current state of things.
Mostly spend time with family and friends. Usually there are big gatherings in most cities or towns and fireworks. Do you have anything similar (big national holiday)?
Yeah active is pretty bad unless you just want to see the active posts from the last few days. Hot is pretty good primarily because of the explosion in users over the last little while.
FWIW the pre release build is actually in a pretty good state right now
I like it, but I can’t get over the iPhone look and feel.
I recently watched a French movie called La Haine which is basically about the same thing this movie was released nearly 30 years ago so things have not changed much it seems.
The issue I have with memes is that you end up with the same low effort meme posts:
“does anyone remember this forgotten gem? (image of best selling game)”
“When your custom character is in a cutscene”
“You’re 12 again, school is over and you’re about to play (massively popular game)”
Etc
I feel like maybe there should just be a gaming memes community. For that sort of content.
Until there’s a bit more traffic I think just one thread is fine
I think low voted comments still get pushed to the bottom though, is that not right?
