I have never heard of anyone actually doing that.
I have never heard of anyone actually doing that.
Nobody ever really cared for speedruns. It’s always been a niche hobby.
I don’t really understand the analogy, then. Of course we should stop PFAS pollution at the source, that being the chemicals plants producing it. But we should also be addressing all the contamination in our food and water first of all. That’s the biggest and most immediate issue.
Turning the water to the toilet off won’t do much when the whole length of the plumbing is split and spewing water throughout the whole house.
We already know PFAS can be absorbed through the skin, but it’s so much worse being absorbed internally. We already know how bad that is for us, so it doesn’t matter if it’s bad or worse, we should try to get exposure to zero regardless.
Speaker of the house is second in line, and when a House member leaves office mid-term, a special election is held. Theoretically, any house rep could resign and a new one elected, that person made speaker, then when the president and VP resign, that person will be acting president. The only limitation is that the house member has to come from a specific district.
I’m not sure that that matters when it’s in our food and water.
Does it work? I’d be surprised her phone can transmit loud enough to reach the base station.
That service is called “The Ride”, and I’ve heard it’s terrible. Drivers can show up hours late or not at all.
$5 says when they build it anyway everyone starts complaining about health problems, then they say they haven’t even turned it on yet
That’s pretty typical, honestly. When working regular jobs, I’ve been paid one way, and not paid for time not working. The term is “waiting to engage”, versus “engaged to wait”. That is, if they want me to sit around to be available at a moment’s notice, they pay me for that time. If I can go off and do other stuff and be vaguely available with whatever delay, then I don’t get paid, because I’m not working and I’m not losing any of my own time.
I don’t really think Uber should pay for time back directly, but they should definitely increase the cost of longer runs, especially to lower-volume areas where the driver might not have a fare in the other direction. (The driver is also not required to take any particular fare at all, so if they feel they’d lose money on it, they shouldn’t take it.)
Honestly, you could make a strong argument that drivers are indeed independent contractors under US labor law. However, if the court has found that they should qualify for more pay and benefits, I’m certainly not going to argue that it should be taken away. In fact I’m going to celebrate it.
Slash it from what? They didn’t even publish a platform in 2020. They just re-published the one from 2016 (that criticized the “current president”, which was actually Trump at that time), and released a statement giving “enthusiastic support” to Trump’s positions. There’s no platform to slash.

Because not all public land (meaning government-owned) is a public space (meaning available for use to the general public, like a park or community room at the library).
Our taxes pay for military bases too. Those are also government land. I’m sure you wouldn’t try wandering in there for a nice walk or a picnic.
I run prowlarr and added a handful of en-us public movies trackers. Sometimes this results in duplicate results on a search, but any time I have to take manual action, it’s very obvious and easy to skip.
I never said it was a public space either.
I never said they did. But you can certainly take guided tours.
Why pay for your own journalists when you can just write about what people say on Twitter?
I have syncthing set up between my phone, tablet, and desktop. I’ve only noticed it not syncing once, but as soon as I opened the app on my phone it scanned and synced, so it just hadn’t run in the background yet.
Idk I put it into Radarr and it grabs it automatically. I mark it failed and it tries again if it’s bad.
Yes. Public property doesn’t mean free access at all times. Even public parks are often closed at night.
You can thank Republican control of the media and defunding education for that.
