Fair, I also have a brother laser printer and have never had issues. I was in IT Support for many years and boy were printers ever a problem.

Even cheap ear buds / headphones and mice these days seem to be perfectly stable wireless though. They may break physically or just have shitty performing hardware, but the wireless part itself has been pretty good these days

No, but that is an option if you dont have the hardware to self host it. I have it on one of my vms on my server in the basement.

EDIT: I just took another look at the github repo and it kind of looks like you can’t just selfhost it, but you can, the main readme is just a little confusing. Click on the “Setup your CouchDB” link in the manual section and the selfhosted via docker guide is there.

You should take a look at the selfhosted live sync plugin for obsidian. It’s been working flawlessly for me for the past year.

It’s a free security upgrade that the os gives you the option to use. There is an enteprise version that includes technical support, but that is an extra addon.

There is no fee for personal use.

Same here. Its just a much better experience through windows. I made a new system for my daily driver which runs linux and I only turn on my gaming desktop when i want to game. I stream it through steam remote play and it works great

If i remember right, it wasn’t just using brave, but including a referral id in brave searches. It wasn’t intended, and they fixed it, so all good with me.

I think we more just disagree with your points rather than miss them. We have never seen this term be scary for the non technically involved people in our lives, nor has the examples you provided to prove your point been considered scary to people we know.

Many times, people in this chain have effectively asked for proof of what you claim, but you just keep reiterating your feeling/opinion.

Now, it’s possible that everyone here just associates with people who aren’t afraid of technology enough to run across it, but that’s all we have to work with until provided evidence.

The earbud is so small it doesn’t reach past my ear, and they are some sort of soft silicon, so they dont bother my ears when sleeping on my side. Windows Defender is actually quite good these days. The main reason an enterprise would use a 3rd party AV/Firewall would be centralized management of said av and firewall. If IT needs to install apps and make them work, they also need the ability to manage the AV/Firewall.

I get ~800Mbps download speed on 5g at home. Maybe your area just didn’t invest in 5g all that much?
