With the window not being sandwiched in a gasket with time the seal between the window and the gasket isn’t as waterproof.

It’s been in a known issue with Subarus forever, that and wind noise, there’s even DIY guides where it’s just people pushing the top of the window to bend the frame a bit to make it seal better!

Yeah they have water leak issues though (which auto lowering windows don’t as their sealed like in framed doors) but they’ve had that setup for ages.

The ones they have are emergency releases and don’t activate the windows, in some models the emergency release is under the door pocket mat, under a cover that needs to be pried open, in others they’re behind the speaker grills.

What I’m saying is that they 100% could have mechanical handles that activate the windows as the regular mean to open the doors, it’s a deliberate choice not to have them and that choice can kill people.

The lack of tech knowledge just comes from growing up with tech that just works and that’s much less open than it was back in the day. The same thing is happening everywhere.

But people keep talking about electors voting for the Democrats not by choice, but because it’s the only option left of the Republicans. If there are so many people who do it (or don’t vote due to a lack of option) like people keep repeating, then removing the Democrats from the equation shouldn’t be an issue, right? Budget or not, people choose where they put a checkmark.

What I’m getting at is that I don’t think there’s as much appetite for a progressive party in the USA as some people like to believe. There’s a far right party and a conservative party and, even though nature doesn’t like a void, no one bothers actually trying to fill up the empty space on the left. Hell, Sanders and AOC keep getting elected yet even they aren’t trying to get a Progressive party started, AOC is a Democrat and Sanders is an “independent” that keeps showing up at Democrat’s events.
