  • If the concept is appealing to you it could also mean that Factorio itself doesn’t suit you. For example I find the concept appealing and I did put a fair bit of time into Factorio, but in the end it just didn’t click. But I loved playing through Satisfactory and I’m currently playing through Techtonica which I’m also enjoying. Maybe one day I’ll learn to love Factorio but in the mean time there are other factory builders that I’m enjoying.

  • Someone probably should the governmental stick up their ass for this. I’m pretty sure all the parts that end up in Russian arsenal have export restrictions and should, in theory, have strict oversight. You can’t just export into another country and forget about it. If those parts want to be to be exported into another country that information should come back to the seller(or the government agency, don’t really remember the specifics) who then have to give clearance for that and any future exports. But you can’t keep track of under the table deals. Hopefully this gets investigated and justice is served but I don’t have much faith.

  • It is a feeling thing, you don’t actually get more vertical space because most games don’t change the vertical field of view with the aspect ratio. If you’re playing on 16:9 and you go to 4:3 it should give you more vertical space. But the games I’ve tested the the vertical field of view stays the same. Vertically you see just as much as with 16:9, but horizontally you see less because the aspect ratio gets cropped horizontally. Same applies with 21:9 and 16:9. You get the same amount of vertical space with 21:9 as you do with 16:9, the actual difference is in horizontal space.

The difference you feel is just an illusion. Even in that video I agree that 4:3 really does feel like you’re getting more vertical space. However the cropped sides break the illusion and show that you’re not actually seeing more vertically. But it’s a feeling thing so there’s no wrong or right answer. If you feel like you’re getting more vertical space from 16:9 then you’re getting more from 16:9. I don’t feel that so I appreciate the extra horizontal space.

  • Until you get an ultrawide screen. It’s one of those things where once you get it you’ve ruined how things used to be. That extra horizontal space makes all the difference. I don’t play on the TV anymore because it doesn’t matter how big the TV is, it’s still 16:9 and it’s just too narrow. Going from 21:9 to 16:9 feels like going from 16:9 to 4:3. It just feels off putting.

Ultrawide feels so good I’m genuinely sad it hasn’t been picked up by the TV manufacturers. Considering 2.39:1 is a common aspect ratio in cinematography ultrawide TVs would be a near perfect fit as 21:9 comes down to 2.33:1.

  • Don’t get me wrong, I get blaming the voters because this was not the election to take a stand. I used to tell people to suck it up, vote for Harris and then hammer your complaints until the DNC gets the point. However, looking at how the DNC has responded to their loss I don’t think there would ever come a time where people could voice their issues with the democratic party. Eventually the dems would’ve suffered such a catastrophic loss because they don’t listen to their voters and keep drifting to the right.

The voters don’t own an allegiance to the democratic party. The party is supposed to get the vote by actually representing the voters. That is not happening and ultimately that is not the fault of the voter, that fault lies solely with the party. They didn’t listen back in 2016 when they lost, they didn’t listen back in 2020 when they did win (people didn’t vote for Biden, they voted against Trump) and so far it seems they’re not going to listened this time as well. You can’t blame the voters when the dems are the ones not listening.

Yeah, the outcome sucks. Yes, America would’ve been better off if Harris had won. But even if Harris had won all it would’ve done is kick the buck to the next election because the underlying issues within the democratic party would’ve remained. Nothing actually gets better until the DNC gets better. And if the DNC doesn’t get any better tear the entire electoral system down and get real parties who would represent the people.

  • They already learned nothing from 2016. If they didn’t learn before why would you believe they’ve learned this time. It’s a situation where satire runs too close to reality so of course people take it seriously. In fact the “she didn’t get elected because she’s black/woman” reasoning already shows they don’t plan to learn from this time either. The answer to dems losing isn’t “we weren’t racist/sexist enough”.

  • As a foreigner, if you voted for a genocider (there was two in this race), I do not think you are human.

I feel like that’s such an idealistic way of viewing things. Hypothetically, if you had a choice between indirectly supporting genocide or throwing your entire life into chaos you’d rather ruin your own life? If you’re actually willing to ruin your own life for it you’re more passionate about this issue than 99% of the population. For example I don’t have an issue supporting Ukraine, I’ve donated to support packages going to Ukraine. But you won’t find me on the battlefield because there’s a limit to my support and that limit is at not throwing away my life. I guess that makes me inhuman because I could do more and I’m choosing to not to.

If the table turns sometime, if I have to pick between genocide in the US and fascism here, well, I hope you have a place to hide lmao

How hypocritical and vindictive. I won’t do what I consider humane because you deserve it.

  • My bad. I guess she mentioned it more than twice.

But in my defense I don’t think I need to remember all the empty words. You’re working with the president around the clock for a ceasefire and the outcome is an 8 billion military aid package for Israel and further escalations by Isreal? She can say all the thoughts and prayers she wants but it doesn’t change that the administration she’s a part of made no progress on a ceasefire.

If you think she would’ve done a ceasefire after being elected you’re huffing pure copium. If a ceasefire was on the card the ceasefire would’ve happened already . You don’t run on “I know our party is currently in office and can pressure for a ceasefire and we can’t or won’t do anything, however if you elect me then next year we’ll do something.”

Just look at the rally from where the first 2 quotes are from. They’re actually part of the same quote and I’ll add the quote in full.

I have been clear: now is the time to get a cease-fire deal and get the hostage deal done. Now is the time, and the president and I are working around the clock every day to get that cease-fire deal done and bring the hostages home. So, I respect your voices, but we are here to now talk about this race in 2024.

Translation. We hear you but we don’t want to address it.
