Part of the issue there is actually the 360 controller, from my experience. It has one of the worst D-pads ever made. That said, platformers and fighting games are typically the only ones I use a D-pad on anyway, so if you don’t play those you’d likely never use it.

I had Squeak Squad on the DS and played through it many times. I’ve been playing through some of the others (still don’t have the recent 3D one), and my biggest complaint is just that I’m not the target audience anymore. Haha. Some difficulty settings would be wonderful. However, whenever I want to turn off my brain for a bit I’ll boot up Triple Trouble or Amazing Mirror sometimes.

Might be a bit narrow, but if you wanted to make some pickle spears it should work.

I like to do a fridge pickle (always gets eaten within a few weeks, so spoilage isn’t a huge concern). Something like this pickled jalapeño recipe works with most veggies, and you can use some whole black peppercorn and mustard seeds (or a pickling spice mix) to give it that pickle flavor.

I have gotten whole cases of CD-R’s at yard sales and thrift stores. I do not own a single CD-RW. Even when I purchase them, the CD-R’s are so cheap that if I mess up I can just toss the error and still come out ahead. If I needed to overwrite it frequently I would probably just use a different media if available (like a USB drive).

For some reason my first thought was that this would be an A Tribe Called Quest crossover meme.

Smoked paprika is a fantastic idea, especially if you use it as part of a dry rub for the shrimp (assuming you are cooking them). If not, it’ll still go great in the potentially gross pineapple mayo dressing. And if you’re using mild cheddar you may be able to do without a marshmallow substitute entirely.

If you plan to eat it, I might have some suggestions. As a disclaimer, I am not a chef. Just somebody who watches a lot of cooking shows and tries to make new recipes often.

• The marshmallows are likely there to balance the sharpness of the cheddar. I would either omit them entirely or use a sweeter cheese, like a honey goat cheese.
• The recipe may be missing the smokiness of the bacon if you use shrimp (despite shrimp and pineapple being a better pairing). If you want shrimp in it, I’d recommend using it in addition to the bacon instead of as a substitute.
• The quality of mayonnaise definitely matters. I would look for a smaller thing of Duke’s if you’re near the southeastern US, or Hellman’s otherwise.

To answer your questions, I’d definitely try a bite (despite it being an abomination) if for no other reason than I put the effort into it to make. If it is anything like coleslaw, it will be better after it sets in the fridge for a half hour or so.

I personally cannot comment on the Midwestern part. I can’t imagine they use a ton of shrimp, being landlocked and all, but even in a coastal state I get it frozen so 🤷‍♂️

I think I remember them mentioning that the replicators can’t make very complex items, like a layered alcoholic drink. That and honestly a lot of people would probably still go just for the social aspect.

That was my first private tracker and I passed the interview despite barely knowing how to torrent. I’ve heard invites are easy to come by if you know someone, too. Ratio is incredibly easy to maintain, too.

Ever since I switched to Linux I don’t really use Eddie as much, but I agree it could be more intuitive. Even on Windows I typically only spent 30 seconds or less with the client, though, so it didn’t bother me.

Port forwarding, relatively cheap, runs a good Black Friday sale, and I think its log policy is decent from what I remember.

AirVPN

My first show was The Next Generation after some half-hearted attempts at the original series. It was a fantastic starting place. It has interesting characters and entertaining storylines, and from what I understand it introduced the more modern Klingon design. If you end up enjoying it, it segues nicely into both Deep Space 9 (which, to me, is just as good) and Voyager (which has not caught my attention quite as well as the other two series).

Plexamp is fantastic for music, but does it work well for audiobooks yet? As far as I can tell Plex just does not handle long audio files well.

At the moment I’m using Audiobookshelf (completely separate from my Plex Media Server, but running on the same computer) in a Docker container, but since I don’t yet have a reverse proxy set up it is LAN or downloads only. So, I would be very interested in an answer to this as well.
