This one worked great. Super disappointing news.

Bitwarden or for the more advanced keepass and other kdbx editors are great alternatives

Edit: By advanced I mean more involved, specifically setting up syncing.

Seconding KeePass and it’s derivatives here.

Combine it with something selfhosted or a local network tool like https://syncthing.net to synch the database between personal devices in order to not rely on corporations.

I figured this was coming, saw quite a few YouTubers recommending their product so I figured it was going to be a bait and switch. You don’t spend that much on marketing just to give your product away.

I just switched, yesterday, to Bitwarden after fumbling around and try to find a way to delete 23 passwords. After deleting like 10 of them, I said fuck it and checked here for a better alternative. Side note… it sucks losing those passwords, idk what they were but one day they could have been useful. 🤷‍♂️

A couple of other things that bothered me about Dashlane since the transition? They don’t let you rate them under 5 stars from the app, and they don’t let you delete your account at all. I just went ahead and deleted the passwords, and cleared it out after copying everything over.
