    Yeah, but some signs are universal.

    Actually, gonna shelve that thought for when I need to kill time not working…. Cuz individual signs that are common/universal sounds interesting…

        Is there a culture in the world where flippin the bird at someone isn’t disrespectful? Genuine question.

          In Japanese Sign Language, this same gesture (with all fingers curled inward except the middle one) means the following: elder brother (hand moving up), younger brother (hand moving down), and siblings in general (one hand moving up, one moving down).

        (sorry, if that offends you. I suppose I should have put a /j tag on that. though apparently some things are more broadly universal than others. Like shushing people with a finger.)
