    This is incredible and unprecedented. Trumps is basically saying to the world “If you’re a friend of the US, the US doesn’t have any qualm betraying you, so don’t befriend us if you’re smart.”

        What’s unprecedented is saying it out loud. Previous presidents pretended the country had firm friendships with other nations. Trump does away with the pretense. No other president has ever done that - possibly because no other president was this dumb.
