!piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com - because we have booty (like treasure, not that booty) (not accessible on lemmy.world instance)
I’m sure they can do something if you want the other type of booty too.
how did you make that link? trying to figure out why some are linking off site and some are working correctly.
!piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com should be correct
I use the web UI, the link should diect to your intance’s version of the community, not to the lemmy.dbzer0.com instance.
Apps might behave differently.
(And my link is the exact same as the link you put)
might not be federating correctly. yours is a direct link mine is a relative link. but both look the same on Lemmy instances.
i’m your stereotypical reddit trio: tech, politics & shiposting/memes so i do communities like badposting or us news & politics and linux and i prefer these over the alternatives because of the engagement.
I might be biased, but I really like !stick@sh.itjust.works. Really fun posting about the wonderful qualities of a good stick.
(FYI, I’m the mod, if you don’t want self promotion, I can delete this. But I do think the community is great)
So that community is great, subscribed.
On a similar “I went for a walk, check out this cool blank I found” vibe, does anyone know of an equivalent one for rocks?
I know rockhounds used to be a thing on Reddit but I haven’t come across a Lemmy equivalent yet?
I haven’t seen anything, but let me know if you find anything or make one, sounds fun.
I was just there before coming to this thread. Glad to see the stick community is alive and well.
here’s a dead community ran by some asshole mod who never contributes anything anymore:
!howtimeless@lemmy.mlEssentially it goes through the lyrics of various songs and tries to pinpoint how timeless the lyrics are based on their etymology. The further back in time the song can be taken, the more timeless it is. The analysis is in the comments, not the post text.
Like I said, the mod’s an asshole, so just best to avoid it completely if you can
Not this community, because nobody follows the rules of it anymore and just treat it as the default/catch-all community, posting any old thing.
!imageai@sh.itjustworks for it’s weekly challenge (voting on the week end)
From those 3 you can discover others
How did you make those links because they’re off site links and I’m trying to figure out wtf is going on in this thread.
!newcommunities@lemmy.world !trendingcommunities@feddit.nl !communities@ponder.cat
The Lemmy Web UI has an autocomplete function for communities names
!games@hexbear.net is the best gaming community on Lemmy IMO, it’s extremely chill there and has no “gamer” brainworms.
Absolutely adore your pfp
Thanks!
!eleven@lemmy.ml (because it’s educational)
ITT: people who don’t know how federated links work. I’m not joining your instance or searching your recommendation on my own.
@anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0.com because the masters tools will never be used to dismantle his own house.
@selfhosted@lemmy.world because fuck 60+ streaming services
@piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com because fuck 60+ streaming services
edit: looks like even ! links aren’t standardised. What an absolute shit show.
Your links don’t work with Sync. Everyone else’s do.
sounds like a sync issue. federated links don’t direct you away from your instance so you can actually interact with the communities being linked to no matter what activity pub software you’re using.
Lemmy users have a bad habit of using local links which are next to useless unless you’re on the same instance.
Shouldn’t the ‘@’ at the start of those be ‘!’ instead? I thought ‘@’ was for users and ‘!’ for Communities
! is a lemmy thing and sends you to the original url, @ is a fediverse thing and sends you to the linked community on your own instance so you can actually interact with it.
! links worked on multiple mobile apps (at least Eternity and Thunder) for me, can’t say the same of the @ kind
Voyager tries to send me to the user with that id, not the community. It seems there are differences.
Ah ok, right on
! Works for all Lemmy apps but @ doesn’t
They also do not work in Voyager and in the browser they are not even links
I’m on Voyager and sh.itjust.works, and they’re still not working for me, lol
