    Fun fact: IS3 (the tank in picture) despite being probably the best tank of WW2 era, was only 10% more expensive to produce than an ordinary Sherman, and was nearly half the cost of Pershing and half the cost of Tiger.

      Does it really count as the WW2 era? It was produced to late to see combat and active service on any front, and was relegated to a second line role since the Soviets abandoned the heavy tank concept relatively soon after.

        Yes, i specifically didn’t said “WW2” but “WW2 era” because it seen little combat, but it was definitely tank entering production in time of WW2 and based on experience from WW2. Also, while it was relegated, it incorporated many revolutionary solutions and was instrumental for later development of soviet MBT.
