[Answered] IP Quail gives me my ipv6 address, can I tell it to duck.dns (a dynamic DNS provider)
No, it’s assigned by your ISP and can change at their whim, though it should stay the same for days/weeks at a time.
You need to run a ddns client that updates it automatically for you.

I’m not sure which of these support ipv6.
Thanks!
Dynamic DNS and Duck DNS don’t update your IP address, rather they give you a stable DNS name that’s updated automatically when the IP address changes.
Some ISPs do issue static IPs. Some always do, so might if you ask or pay or fee. If you don’t know otherwise, assume your home IP will change
you made me curious about buying ipv6 address space, looks like you can buy a /40 for $250/yr. That should be good for about 1 septillion devices.

He owns that many devices but has never heard of WANs

Septillion is a word? TIL
But why a /40? While I haven’t looked up the prices, I do suspect that prices and scope sizes corelate. A /48 is enough if you need to subnet. But why not just get a /64? If you can’t get by with a /64 I’ll buy you a beer… Heck you can buy me the beer, because you definitely got the budget for it.
