Your really shitting on the culture of a people you clearly don’t understand, because you want to losely tie it into the fact that you (think) your better than the average person simply because you don’t follow a religion.       There is a lot to crticize about religion but this isn’t really worth getting upset about. An annual celebration might be as culturally significant as it is religiously so. Leave them alone about it if its harmless.
