Sorry guys not sure where else to post this question. Please let me know if it’s inappropriate to post here.

So I’ve recently got myself a proton.me email account and in order to get 1gb storage I put down a gmail account to forward the emails(from gmail to proton). The thing is, I would like to stop the forwarding but the proton email isn’t listed in the Forwarding and POP/IMAP under my gmail settings.

I’ve tried adding the proton email under the gmail settings manually and deleting it but the emails still keep getting forwarded.

What’s even more bizarre is that it still keeps forwarding even if I’ve disabled forwarding under gmail settings. I’m at a loss here and would appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this. Thank you.

Edit: Solved it by revoking the access of Proton under account settings (myaccount.google.com/connections) instead of gmail settings. I didn’t even know that email forwarding can happen outside of the forwarding function under gmail settings, even when disabled. That’s quite a security risk come to think of it.

I’ll leave this here in case anyone ever comes across the same issue.
