Learned that sea urchins have a single eye and now I’m physically ill
[Two photos, the first showing a sea urchin and the second more zoomed in on a small orange part in the middle of its body.]

That is a butthole.

I still don’t really understand how community notes haven’t been killed yet. Did Elon fire everyone who knows how to control it?
Yeah super weird specially when I think some were correction to his xeets… Maybe he disabled them or somebody did disable them for him so he doesn’t see them? 🤷
They like the notes. They aren’t as effective as they claim, but it allows them to pretend they’re moderating content using it. People who agree with the nasty stuff will just ignore it; it won’t change their mind.
In Portuguese the butthole can be called “the eye of the ass”
PORTUGAL CARALHO !!!
brown eye
So that’s what Van Morrison was singing about.
Beauty lies in the eye of the butthole.
Any marine biologists able to weigh in?
Not a marine biologist, but I am a biology student in my undergrad, and have dissected these recently. That is indeed the butthole. Sea urchins don’t have eyes.
I have no eyes but I must poop.
The sea urchin was angry that day my friends.
The ocean, the sea creatures, it’s a whole other world down there. I’m practically an expert, you know. Ask me anything about marine life, and I’ll give you a convincing answer. It’s like I’m swimming with the dolphins of knowledge, baby!
So regarding this, one day, there I am, waist-deep in the ocean, when I stumble upon a distressed sea urchin. When out of nowhere, I whip out a golf ball – you heard me, a golf ball! I save the day by removing the obstruction from the butthole of a sea urchin.
Settle down, George.

a member of the class Echinoidea
Sounds like they tried to link that class’s lineage to an echidna, but gave up.
“echi(n)” means spiny or prickly, so echinacea, echidna, and echinoidea are all prickly
Uni(sushi) is yummy!
As with anything, there is a twitter account which collects them https://twitter.com/cnviolations/status/1747166763400212593
