“Mach, the CMU variant of BSD?” That’s kind of tortured. Mach was not that. Mach was a research microkernel that implemented the BSD ABI for the sole reason that doing so would yield a usable system immediately, rather than having to reimplement a userland when that was not the project’s focus. It was simply a drop in kernel replacement.
This feels like such an interesting video!
