Thought this was an interesting question and I’m sure there’s lots of suggestions out there.
1899
I’m still heartbroken Netflix cancelled it because it had the unfortunate timing of airing at the same time as Wednesday. The directors’ previous series, “Dark”, was a proper mindfuck.
Dark was amazing. I didn’t bother with 1899 after I heard that it was cancelled.
I think I’m developing a fear of commitment with shows these days, with so many cancelations
Firefly. There is no other answer for me.
Came here to say this. The movie helped but not as much as another season.
There is nothing really close. Better off Ted is an obvious if distant number 2 for me.

The Adventures of Brisco County Jr and the Pirates of Dark Water.
Firefly
At least we got serenity to kinda tie up lose ends
I didn’t want to see them quickly tied off though, I wanted to see them expand into grand story arcs.
A reboot would be very welcome.
I am mixed. A reboot would be nice but everyone, myself included would compare it to the nostalgia in our head.
Also I have heard that Whedon is somewhat problematic now. If that is true we would probably want someone with less baggage at the helm :(Found this that I need to read to see whats up https://www.vulture.com/2021/05/complete-timeline-joss-whedon-allegations.html
Hopefully he isn’t an ass.
Edit: Welp I read that. It is gross. Whedon hasn’t commented on it but a whole host of his cast and crew are accusing him of lots of bad stuff including one part where they said he wasn’t allowed to be alone with Michelle Trachtenberg when she was 14.
I obviously have no idea if any or all of the accusations are true.
Thank you for posting that link. I was unaware.
Honestly I didn’t do my due diligence before. I had heard rumblings about it for years but didn’t look in to it either. It sucks. We have a culture that rewards you for making people money above all else and at all costs.
Was gonna say, kids these days don’t know the pain of 2000’s Fox!
Hi Randall Munroe!
Firefly 😭💀
Limitless was such a good TV show - funny with great character dynamic. I watched it on Netflix and thought it was a glitch when I got through the last episode of the first season and nothing else came up. It was another victim of CBS chopping decent shows to keep on dreck.
Hannibal and Dead Like Me get mentioned every time this thread is made, but for good reason.
I still can’t believe they cancelled Arrested Development after 3 seasons and never made any more.
Yeah, the Limitless TV show was so good and it was such a shame they canceled it… I liked Hannibal a lot but I don’t get why you would want one more season. To me the ending was good (I won’t get into details, I don’t want to spoil it for anyone)
Stargate Universe. First season was garbage, but from like half of season 2 forward it was really good, and it ended on a huge cliff hanger
Agreed, but I’d rather have Stargate Atlantis have a few more seasons if I had a choice.
this
Fringe
Mindhunter, without a doubt.
I’m still sad when I think of what could’ve been
Star Trek Enterprise season 5. That show was just starting to get really good.
Would love to have seen the Romulan wars.
Better off Ted
I need more Veridian Dynamics.
Also, casting Linda as Ted Lasso’s wife and having her say “Ted” was one of the most jarring experiences I’ve had watching TV. All suspension of reality was completely broken.
I noticed that too!
Pushing Daisies
Of course, there are the classics: Firefly, Better Off Ted, Hannibal, Carnivale (::shakes fist at the air::).
But I’d love to see the rest of The Nevers. They unveiled the big twist and there are 6 more episodes floating in the ether yet to be aired.
Lockwood & Co. was so perfectly cast. It broke my heart not to get a season 2!
I’d love to see more of “Don’t Trust the B… in Apt. 23.” Kristen Ritter was so great in that!
And I’d like to see how the relationship in “Selfie” played out, it ended on such a hopeful note. Karen Gillan and John Cho had a weird, quirky chemistry.
I had no idea that they cancelled Lockwood & Co! Ugh that’s depressing. That show really surprised me and I liked it a lot.
Sense8. There’s nothing else quite like it. I really wanted to see more of that story, I’ll never forgive Netflix for cancelling it.
