I prefer to think the message was “we’ve had fun, dipshit, but one of our kids can put an arrow through your heart at 100 paces and will do it for real next time. Fuck off with your gifts, we want nothing you can offer us.”
It’s just such a classic movie trope where like a cop is saved by a bullet hitting their badge or something. If this happened in some christian movie people would groan over the cliche symbolism.
