Assuming they catch the shitbags, I see no need for further violence.

Fair question. You’re not going to catch a soda can, but a boat should be a closed system. The thresholds should be as low as is practically enforceable.
First - The major problem with trash isn’t the getting rid of it part, it’s the gathering it up part. If we could do that, it wouldn’t be a problem.
The frustrating part is that this could be the easiest to solve. Require boats to weigh in and out, and account for everything on board. Minus fuel, plus fish, but those old, broken nets and plastic waste need to return to port to be properly disposed of. Throwing even a soda can overboard should result in significant fines.
I thought this was satire.
Your truck is stupid looking and poorly built, and you paid way too much for it.
I can sympathize with the people who bought their trucks unaware that it was going to be a piece of shit, or unfamiliar with Musk in general. But I have to believe that’s a small minority, and a lot of them should have returned their trucks for a refund by now.
If you’re driving it to make eco-conscious decisions, there are better options out there.
If you like the features and design, there are better options out there.
If you’re driving it as a status symbol, or because you’re a Musk fanboy, you deserve ridicule.
But you should also know that the ultimate flex is not giving a fuck what other people think. Own your place in the world, and be the person you want to be. Ignore the haters, no matter how ridiculous you look.
That’s such a weirdly sinister thing to do.
The media is a business, and clicks are currency. Trump is good for business. It’s that simple.
It was intentional. They are doing everything possible to bait Harris into a mistake and distract voters from Trump being too frail to campaign. Trump voters are already racist shitbags. The strategy here is to make Harris seem shrill and unreasonable.
The house thing is like Monopoly 101. Never buy hotels, stop at 4 houses. If you need more houses, you can buy a hotel and have four houses to buy.
What they’re saying is that trying to reverse climate change won’t be enough. It doesn’t mean it isn’t the right path, just that it won’t go far enough.
I agree with you on that. I’d also like to be able to replace the battery on my phone or control my social media. But that wasn’t really my point. Disposable goods are bad for consumers and bad for the environment, along with fast fashion, factory farming, corporate conglomeration, and the vertical integration of news media.
And I think that’s the new frontier, which is really just reclaiming the old frontier from the profit-takers. People are learning to sew and knit, how to cook, how to farm, how to repair their stuff, and how to evaluate propaganda. That’s the shit our kids will say we never bothered to learn, and if they do it right, maybe their kids won’t have to learn.
I’m inclined to believe her, but also she needs to prove those allegations.
Two types of people reading this:
“Oh no! We should do everything we can to mitigate the damage.”
and
“Fuck it, might as well keep doing what I’m doing.”
And it’s the latter that got us here in the first place.
That only happens if he wins.
Sure, obviously there were exceptions or we wouldn’t have half the modern conveniences we do. My parents were very enthusiastic about computers, and my kids are each building their own desktops. I’m speaking in generalities.
I agree, and I do understand some things are beyond control. But the Captain America franchise is the one that didn’t have any stinkers yet, and I can’t help but feel like FatWS was a harbinger of bad things to come.
I love comics and the movies based on them. I enjoyed the show, but I recognize it was flawed. My main complaint is that Falcon was the least interesting character, and they were clearly alluding to real life societal problems but fumbled the delivery because the bad guys have to be bad guys. It wasn’t as bad as Secret Wars, but it wasn’t as good as WandaVision, Loki, or Moon Knight.
Our parents didn’t think it was important. Our kids don’t think it is necessary.
Imagine how horse farmers felt about engine maintenance on the first automobiles. Early adopters probably knew everything about how to fix tractors and cars. But today, how many people know how to change their own brakes or flush the coolant?
Life evolves, and transitions come faster with every generation. It’s good that nobody knows how to use a sextant or a fax machine.
By that time, his Exo suit was a Stark design, so I assume it was using repulsors and some kind of mini arc reactor power supply.
But you’re right, in the beginning of the show, he’s USAF.
I think we were supposed to have a Kang phase leading up to the Young Avengers. Patriot would almost certainly have been a part of that, and given the time-traveling aspect, I could imagine a time-displaced Eli meeting his grandfather in action.
Also, as far as Avengers salaries, Sam was blipped and then Tony died like five minutes after he came back. Sam then turned down the job of Captain America. He’s not on anyone’s payroll, and any savings or assets he had would all be distributed to his next of kin. The whole show is about blipped refugees and the effect of displaced people, and Sam was really able to relate to their struggle.
Edit to add: I’m not defending the show. FatWS was not good. But if anything, I feel like they glossed over the really humanizing parts of the story, trying to provoke thoughts about controversial political issues whilst avoiding making any controversial political statements.
It’s bad news. Gannet is a news conglomerate, but is run locally in each market. Each market has an editorial team, and each would like to independently endorse candidates. Whether they endorse Trump or Harris or Putin for president, they should be able to do that without interference from the corporate overlords. Oppression isn’t good when the oppressed disagree with you.
