Good on KDE and Valve for just doing HDR and bypassing the wayland people who have just sat on the PR for 3 years: https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/4589 ; https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/wayland/wayland-protocols/-/merge_requests/14
It was between this one and https://mastodon.social/@ryanhoulihan/111497118442295008 ; which someone else can post
Honestly, lemmy and the fediverse as a whole will have natural growth and thats fine - mastodon has been around for like 8 years and is only recently getting a small amount of attention and mainstream usage. Like take the long view - like the really long view like 15 years from now. It’ll probably be huge, but until then we will just share memes and have a good time discussing stuff.
Perfect, I was looking to improve my chess skills

Hmmm, thanks for linking the relevant page. I see now that my inital guess was wrong; this is tricky cause it must be a new and specific issue
I am seeing it as well, but I also do see new posts pop up; so I dont think this is a bug so much as code working as intended. My guess is: because the increase in users was so big about three days ago, all of those posts got weighted much larger than everything else and the decay rate didnt adjust properly to accomodate this, so thier scores are still much higher than new posts. Someone should open an issue and let the devs know to look into it outside of just guessing: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues
Theres also misskey, calckey, and plemora
Absolutely agreed, source
In the comment editor hit the smile button (4th from the left) then when the emoji selector comes up, select the emoji catagory at the far right with a star symbol ( * ) to get server specific emoji
If you are trying to set an image for your community and the server cant process it (its pretty finicky) then it’ll error out. I would suggest trying to not set an image when creating it (you can always add it later).
Pixelfed just implemented an instagram import feature as well!
Holy shit, an actually good explanation of the vulkan pipeline!
Karma is the total upvotes - downvotes across all posts made by an account on reddit; on the fediverse there is only upvotes (likes or boosts depending on implementation) and downvotes (dislikes) per post. Theoretically you could calculate it for your account, but because you cant display it anywhere (and it isnt used for anything) it wouldnt be of much use.
Beautiful
