Im guessing based on your username this character is an obsession of yours, and there’s a need to insist your interpretations are absolute fact. But unless the writer’s state explicitly what they were intending with her character. Its all just opinions.

On another note. Despite what you might think based on a lot of comments, it is possible to discuss things on the Internet without being unnecessarily smug and condescending purely because someone contradicted your head cannon

  • Some of the classics beyond cash and dolly, I’ll exclude the more countrypolitan stuff, these are mostly more honky tonk, also some modern people

Hank williams (all three of 'em) merle haggard, willy nelson, waylon jennings, kris Kristofferson, Buck Owens, wayne hancock, Orville peck, marty robbins, nick shoulders

Bluegrass earl scruggs, osborne brothers, ricky skaggs, billy strings

Gothic? Bridge City sinners, rhiannon Giddens, Amigo the Devil, Shawn James

  • I disagree. I dont disagree this is true but i dont think its the main reason for poor leadership. I think that has more to do with greed and power politics. Incredibly powerful people and groups (billionaires, superpacs, other politicians) largely choose who gets put in significant leadership positions. They’ll put in people who will “play the game” and made token appeals to the masses but largely work towards the interests of themselves and their donors/people pulling the strings.

Its not that theyre afraid to make unpopular decisions as much as they dont really care, because people who do care seldom get into those positions

  • Its conflicting even in the sources. There’s at least two lines that directly say “everyone who dies in battle goes to Valhal” However the sagas and Eddas are full of people dying in battle who are said to go to Hel. Similarly we have many people who do not die in battle who seem to believe they will be going to Odinn’s hall. (academic speculation warning) most of the people who die outside of battle but still intend to go to valhal deem to be specifically Odinn worshippers. Perhaps there’s a link there to the odinnic cult.

  • Inb4 crazy vegan but id like to remind you all that the Animal Agriculture industry is one of the most environmentally destructive forces on the planet (cattle farming is the number one cause of deforestation)

The animal ag industry spends billions and billions lobbying for shit like this. Theyre just as evil as the oil companies. But they get a free pass because people like the product they make.

  • Even those require individuals to do something though. Since the government and basically every corporation is entirely opposed to this. You still have to march and protest and call your representatives and fight for it. There’s no reality where this ever changes with no one doing anything beyond an occasional Facebook post. However, even if suddenly our politicians and billionaires all had a change of heart, the necessary changes to effectively combat this environmental catastrophy would mean a complete upheaval of our lives. Cars and animal products either cease to be made or are so expensive barely anyone can afford them. We’ll be using public transportation and bikes and eating mostly vegan diets and bringing our reusable bags to our zero waste grocery stores. Itd force people to do all the things that various groups are already trying to get everyone to do (and to be clear im not sitting on my high horse claiming i already do all that, because i dont) There’s no way through this where we solve the problem and it doesnt require all of us to change our own habits

  • Exactly. Corporations ABSOLUTELY are a problem we NEED to fight. But its also not an excuse to pretend we’re all completely blameless. People get furious when you tell them we cant sit around and wait for climate change to magically fix itself or billionaires to magically become good and stop. But that WE are going to have to actually make changes and put our money where our mouths are

This map is nonsense and implies rigid European borders. It ignored the hundreds of independent tribes on the continent. Comparing illegal immigration with colonizing is stupid too. Also the map implies native people never conquered each other or colonized others land which to be clear, is not justifying later European colonization, but we shouldn’t play into the noble savage trope.

But what the hell is a “chemical” everything is a chemical

I used to work at whole foods and we had to do training on the meaning of the organic label. In a survey 94% of responders listed the reason they prefer organic was no pesticides. However organic produce is still sprayed with pesticides

  • Dude do you…do you know how many cows there are? 44lb of beef is less than one cow and theres BILLIONS of cows

Even if we end the private jets (we should) that doesnt remove the beef problem. Even in some idealic socialist utopia that doesnt change the fact that our planet’s ecosystems are being annihilated for animals and their feed. Ethically problematic and environmentally devastating habits are a problem no matter how many people are doing them. It doesnt matter if billions of people do something, its still a problem, its only amplified by how many people are doing it.

But you keep making up this idea I’m opposed to fighting billionaires and their jets even though i keep agreeing with you. It sounds like you’re pretending i have a problem with it so you can ignore my other point, and the marvelous fact human beings can work towards more than one goal at a time.
