Yup. I’m Bo7a.

Believing this tripe is what causes some people to not bother trying to improve the only actual life we have here on this planet. Comforting lies do not help.
That is deodorant antiperspirant actually prevents you from sweating in the first place
I feel this - I’m often on the other end working with data from clinicians in the field for massive studies. The forms that come in can have an infinite number of possibilities just for noting sex. Enough so that our semantic layer needs a human reviewer because we keep finding new ways field clinicians have of noting this. Now imagine that over the whole gamut of identifiers.
tl:dr - Humans are almost always the problem in data harmonization.
Lol. Fuck off.
Signed, A Canadian who has to work all over the US. Sure, if you happen to be really rich, your quality of life might be better there than here. But for the vast majority of people, that is a fucking laughable statement.
Why even type this out?
Do you just like arguing stupid points for fun even when you know yourself that you are wrong?
Have you never seen an automotive touchscreen before?
Even within one model/brand there are a ton of panes, and layouts. And even when you choose one layout, which apps are open changes the location and size of the buttons. Now add into that multiple brands, models, layout, and years… And your comment gets more worthless at every step.
Beyond that. The screen doesn’t use haptic feedback to tell you where your fingers are so that the parts of your brain that evolved to handle that kind of context can use it without your fucking eyes. ‘Oh I touched the round thing, I know there are 4 rectangles next to this’ is a built-in feedback loop that a touchscreen does not provide at this time.
Do you have problems with object permanence in everyday life? or just in your car?
Thankfully they are alive and doing quite well in our little forest home in Quebec, Canada. Of all the places I used to see them as a kid almost none are still vibrant and busy, but our little corner of forest here has a good population. For now…
Your lack of knowledge of the world does not indicate the existence of a god. Cut it out.
God isn’t real. This is verbal masturbation.

News report - Date unknown
In the early days of the war the Russian regime made regular threats to use nuclear weaponry, but most experts and lay-people believed that even that brutally sadistic despot would not go the extreme of destroying the earth to achieve his goals.
By 2024 Russia was doing small-scale ecocide in hopes of lending credence to their threats. Looking back, the poisoning of an entire riparian ecosystem connected to the Desna River in what was Ukraine should have been a clear signal of what was to come. But nobody listened and the nuclear weapons flew.
I am not making a joke here. This is where my brain naturally went when reading this. Let’s just hope my invasive thoughts are wrong.
[Edit: I am also not saying to appease this fucking psycho either. This is just a snippet of thought that I felt the urge to share.]

15+ years working remote. I only turn my camera on when there are new vendors/clients on the call and it is my turn to introduce myself.
It’s nice to be able to rely on having dog shit stupid takes from the same username all the time. Consistency is key. Keep it up.
This is literally me. We’ve been out here three years - One more year of putting up with the tech world during the day, and building our solace nights and weekends and this place will be close enough to self-sufficient that I can check out of the workday forever.
Don’t get me wrong - building a place in the forest yourself, from nothing, is a lot of work. But it is the kind of work that leaves your body tired and your brain energized. Not the soul sucking every day of dealing with ‘business’ types.
And every year life gets a bit easier here, while it gets harder every day in the tech industry.
