the tumbleweed is a nice touch
I swear, no set dressing was involved! :)
I thought the tumbleweed was employed as a greeter, easy mistake.
What airport is this, and what type of plane did you come in on?
Eastern Sierra Regional Airport in Bishop California
Darn it, beat me to it :-).
Haha but you included more info. Did you know it or find it? I saw the word Bishop twice in the photo. Googled it. Found the airport. Flipped through street view photos and found the baggage claim.
I’ve been to Bishop, but never to the airport. I found a photo of the baggage claim on GIS, which brought me to a Japanese travel blog: https://npo.mirokuyamanokai.org/2022/08/24/37887 - plus Google translate, of course.
I had a feeling, it looked familiar. Thanks for the confirmation. 👍
Eastern Sierra Regional Airport in Bishop, California. Currently served by United Airlines CRJ’s.
Exactly. Canadair Regional Jet 700
I hope it was a vintage airplane that he was riding in the back seat
props to OP for taking the picture symmetrically as Wes Anderson would

Fantastic. I love the je ne sais quoi feel of this kind of image.
There’s nothing fantastic, sexy, colorful… it just has a comfortable simplicity and calm beauty.
Where is this OP?
Someone else already mentioned while I was napping, but Eastern Sierra Regional Airport in Bishop, CA. Came in on a Canadair Regional Jet 700 operated by United Airlines.
I hope you had a good nap!
And here I thought the airport in Roswell, NM was the smallest but this just took the cake there.
They could be halfway across the galaxy by now.
The angle of the cement and the dirt in front is not could probably be straighter to be more Anderson-esque.
You weren’t lying :)
Is there an /AccidentalWesAnderson somewhere within the Fediverse?I did look, but couldn’t find one. I miss that sub, but not all the reposts!
I swear I saw one early on, and someone was posting the a lot. My first account was on vlemmy.net; maybe it was there and disappeared with that?
This is from his upcoming movie “Tarmac City”.
It’s a good thing they’ve got their back entrance locked up so no one could steal your suitcase!
Theres plenty of real estate on those walls to add more details
