I’m a dumbass and sawed into my workbench.

ETA: Threw a maple spline into it to commemorate the occasion.

Now scribe some inch markings either side of it and add a built in ruler to your bench. #featurenotflaw

It’s not a workbench if it doesn’t have battle scars. Some of the fights you won, some of the stupidity you fought.

Based on the title, I assumed fingers. I have been to the ER with enough shop co-workers to have that be my first thought.

Second guess was “sawed through the power cord”

Super agree with the other user saying to make it a built in ruler.

I got one of those Kreg ACS things gifted to me and I immediately plunged the saw THROUGH the table, shitty depth stop gave out when I leaned on it, I was bummed lmao

I use a foam insulation board as a cutting surface so I can safely cut into it.

My issue is that I always forget to account for the thickness of my DIY track saw guide, so I end up only cutting about two-thirds of the way through my piece.

Another reason I’m not ashamed that I built mine out of 2x4s. If I manage to completely destroy it, I’ll just buy more crappy spruce, glue up a new slab, and keep going.

I’m reading this while on break from setting up a simple shelf build. Thanks for the reminder to double check everything before I start cutting x.x

Oh that’s barely a scratch. I thought you had cut the power cord maybe :)
