I was most impressed by the calcite sunstone. Tremendously useful for navigation.
That being said, one would have to find which way is “straight” which may not be perpendicular to one of the crystal’s faces, depending on how light refracts and is polarized through it.
One could probably do that with a small bright light source, like a candle through a pinhole, build a wood holder that indicates what direction the light particles go straight through the crystal without being polarized, and use that to calculate the sun’s angle.
Difficult but doable, I guess.

The production of beverages was done today, with François as the bartender.
Additionally, three people were revived from petrification to help Hyoga, Moz, and Momiji.
I thought it was cool that Ryusui made a comparison between them and the Vikings because, even though science changes them, the comparison is still fitting.
Anyway, after a lot of adventure, the crew finally arrived in the Americas.
Uffff… 2nd episode and there are already slideshows. It doesn’t bode well for the production.
It’s not like the episode called for high production, they might just be saving money for big events later. They did just revive a lot of dangerous people, I expect big action scenes that will use up that budget better.
