I was also positively surprised how a lot of Reddit users on r/politics were way less deluded on election night and the day after, openly criticising the Dem party on class issues and Gaza.
It got back to “normal” now, but I think they might have a second “genzedong situation” in the near future with dissatisfied users, though now there’s literal alternative websites like here and hexbear (and raddle I guess?) so they could just leave with greater ease.
Not only .world, but the Canadian, Australian and the “nazijustworks” instances are all filled with some of the most atrocious takes I’ve seen in here
I feel like there’s 3 cool users I enjoy talking to on aussie.zone.
The mainstream culture in aus is pretty conservative and reactionary though, usual for postcolonial settler state :|
Nah I’m good. Every single time I see the ghouliest take is a .worlder (although recently lemmy.ca users have been upping their competition for trash takes)
I have noticed this as well and I am genuinely suprised. I wonder why?
When the Reddit exodus occured, .world was set up to accept new users immediately, and skip the queue for approval on other instances. As a result all the toxic idiots nobody else wanted congregated there.
I wonder what’s been going on in the 𝕏itter liberal pundit cinematic universe the last couple of days. I bet they’re all still on Musk’s fascist platform, the same Musk who bankrolled Trump’s victory. Fucking idiots.
There’s been quite a lot of fingerpointing, from what I could tell, from the parts of twitter I’m tapped into. A lot of people doing the voter blame game and then the occasional person with any sense trying to explain how absurd it is to be blaming voters for a process that is, well to use your terminology, bankrolled by billionaires.
