Some Highlights:

Here lies the problem with Reddit - Spez thinks his competitors are Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter.

No, your competitors are sites like Quora. You rely on users content to monetize. You rely on free volunteers to keep their communities in check. Every other company you think is a competitor, moderates their own platform. You cannot, because your platform was built by the users.

As you stated, the userbase of 3PA were small, but you also acknowledge later on

90-plus percent of Reddit users are on our platform, contributing, and are monetized either through ads or Reddit Premium. Why would we subsidize this small group? Why would we effectively pay them to use Reddit but not everybody else who also contributes to Reddit? Does that make sense?

You fail to realize, most of the power users are on 3PA. All you are doing is shooting yourself in the foot of paying members who you think are “freeloading” off 3PA and not paying or seeing ads, which you could have implemented into the API at any time and required every app to display them.

It boggles my mind how someone so braindead can become CEO, and have his company have this many PR disasters in one week. If you acted like this after you IPO’d, your stock would be RED. I hope you get kicked out during the IPO due to how bad you are at handling any sort of critism’s or any questioning regarding how you falsely claimed someone blackmailed you, and when proven wrong, doubled down on those accusations. Fuck u/Spez.
