A lot of places have signs that they don’t accept $100 bills because of counterfeit bills and it would make them lose $100. From recent memory I have seen it in multiple subways, grocery stores, and other fast food places.
Store might refuse large bills on small purchases. Doubt they’d put up a fit if you used a $100 to buy $120 worth of stuff.
