Glad it’s circled, otherwise I don’t know how I would have found the joke. Why do folks do that? (Just an open question to all, not a direct question to OP, unless they did the circling)

Statistically speaking there will be a small percentage of people who would have skimmed over the comment below the image without the coloured circle grabbing their attention. It doesn’t otherwise degrade the image, so why not.

It degrades the experience in my opinion. It feels like someone explaining a joke right after saying it. And it does simply look messier (so from that point of view, it does degrade the image) and I feel like it’s assuming everyone is incapable of finding it on their own. And the color choice for the circle is mentally irritating, but that one may simply be on me.

Personally I didn’t even notice the circle until it was pointed out, and it’s not really an aesthetically pleasing image anyway. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I found the image so I did not place the circle. If it were me I’d probably do a light highlighting, but it’s just a funny meme I found and thought I’d share. I’m sorry if your experience wasn’t 100%. I’ll take the 3 star review and hope to do better next time.
