BEKadyrov handed over the list of prisoners to former US Army intelligence officer Scott Ritter, who visited Grozny.

He was also shown a video in which Ukrainian prisoners were forced to ask the United States to lift sanctions against Kadyrov.

I will give (the list) to our guest if they lift the sanctions from my mother, from my daughters and innocent people, horses

I don’t know what funnier, that there are sanctions on Kadyrov’s horses or that he is trying to cut a deal to lift them.

Pardon my ignorance; But I keep seeing articles “US sanctions ------”. What are these sanctions and why would someone like Kadyrov be affected? From a bit of searching it sounds mostly like being prohibited to do business with, or travel to, the US. I could see how this puts pressure on someone who does business with/in the US. But why would Kadyrov or his horses care? That sounds like getting banned from wal-mart.

I will give you an example of how sanctions work. My wife works in accounting for a major law firm. When lawyers in a sanctioned country (Russia) request to be paid for work performed, if my wife submits payment, their bank will block the payment. No matter how many times payment is submitted, the bank will not allow it to be sent.

Banks essentially have a list of blocked accounts, people, and countries. If someone ends up on that list, they are screwed.

There are likely ones specifically targeting him and freezing a lot of his stolen money (he himself does not know where his money comes). As for his horses, he bought a race horse for €2 million and cannot use it because it is banned from racing in most countries now.

I mean, he’s not asking for himself to get off the list, he’s asking for more stuff to get on him till the release the hostages.

Honestly it’s one of the most honorable things I’ve seen in this war from them.

It’s a man asking that you don’t punish his family for things that he did, and then offering to allow you to put more punishments on him.

I don’t believe a word of it. He’s just looking for a way to circumvent the sanctions, in this case via his family members and their assets and bank accounts.

The last time I saw any of this piece of shit family mentioned, it was when he gave permission to his subhuman son to repeatedly beat the shit out of a civilian Russian prisoner who burned a Koran. I saw this because they filmed it and released it. And you want to call him honorable for protecting these animals?

Rotting in hell is too nice for kadyrov, what’s the next worse thing.

It was a derogatory joke aimed at them about this action being the most respectful thing that side has done to show how bad they are.

I really didn’t think I had to explain it, but I might have been too esoteric
