Twitter plans to focus on video, creator and commerce partnerships to revitalize the social media company’s business beyond digital advertising, according to an investor presentation by owner Elon Musk and new Chief Executive Linda Yaccarino that was reviewed by Reuters.
Yaccarino, who started as CEO on June 5, told Twitter investors on Thursday that the company is in early conversations with political and entertainment figures, payments services and news and media publishers, said a source familiar with the matter, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss a private investor call.

They’re trying to turn into right wing TikTok.
Oh gosh right wing TikTok sounds like a nightmare.
@Dusty @NotBadAndYou Twitter and Reddit are a dumpster fire. Only difference is that Twitter knows already and Reddit is slowly finding out!
If every social media becomes a video platform what’s the point of being every one as a content consumer? Like if I’m just going to get the same content from the same creators on instagram or TikTok etc what’s the value add for also being on twitter?
They should focus on bankruptcy proceedings. Ya know, get a head start.
Oh great, another pivot to video. I feel like the lesson wasn’t learned the first time around.
Yaccarino told investors that ad spending in several advertiser categories is now up at least 40% year-over-year, including health, consumer packaged goods and financial services, the source said.
So, kook pills, preppers, and crypto scams.
Maybe they should focus on what their user base wants instead trying to be TikTok or whatever is hot this week.
Why go to the effort of buying something, just to destroy it, and make it something different? Surely the brand isn’t strong enough to make it through such massive change?
So, pivoting as a competitor to Instagram (Meta) and TikTok? Yeah… good luck, Elon
