The public has increasingly soured on Congress — and now, some House lawmakers are starting to agree.

With legislating all but brought to a halt and partisanship at an alarming high, members of Congress in both parties are running for the exits, opting out of another term on Capitol Hill to vie for higher office or, in some cases, leave politics altogether.

It is a trend that skyrocketed in recent months — amid a tumultuous 10-week stretch on Capitol Hill — and one that is likely to continue through the end of this year, highlighting the challenges of navigating a polarized, and oftentimes chaotic, era of Congress.

“Right now, Washington, D.C. is broken,” Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-Ariz.) said in a statement when announcing that she would not run for reelection. “[I]t is hard to get anything done.”

Let’s take a fucking minute here to point at the actual problem. Articles like this even make it worse, because right wing extremists have been trying for ages to destroy American support in politics and government. So, they upped the ante here and got a FEW fucking extremist nut jobs elected and this extremely small extremist minority is what’s breaking Congress. And everyone else in their party is enabling it, from brainwashed voters, to Republican appointed judges, and other current and former congressmen or presidents.

What we need is for people to be held accountable, again. And extremists, from former presidents to sitting congressmen who supported insurrection, to be charged, found guilty, and removed and banned from office. Thats how you fix the problem. We need to stop letting Politics choose whether or not you broke the law, and have the courts do it. And when biased judges do blatantly illegal or biased shit… call them out and have them removed too.

Edit: If there is a problem, it’s the fucking Republican Party.
